Holocaust remembered

There is still time to see a collection of 12 water colours by artist Paul Winner, each depicting life in the Holocaust, at the gallery in Barking Learning Centre.

Paul is known internationally for his paintings, and was Artist at Large for Holocaust Memorial Day in 2004. The exhibition runs until Friday 15 February 2008.

The event follows the borough's observance of Holocaust Memorial Day, which included a tree-planting ceremony at the Peace Garden in Dagenham.

Sixth formers from local schools will also visit the sites of the Auschwitz and Birkenau concentration camps in Poland during March.

Monday 11 February 2008.
