Dagenham Town Show
Parade
One of the longest-running in the south-east of England, our parade is more than 50 years old.
The parade in previous years has been going from strength to strength, thanks to the dedication of the organisers and help from sponsors.
The parade is judged by an independent panel from outside of the borough at around 12pm at Old Dagenham Park. It sets off at around 1.30pm to arrive in the Central Park arena for around 3pm.
The parade's theme for 2010 is 'Science Fiction and Fantasy'.
Around 1,000 youngsters formed a vibrant bustling procession including local dance troupes, schools and clubs, voluntary groups and local businesses.
Money raised during the parade goes to the Mayor's Charities.
Trophies are awarded in the Town Show Arena for the following categories:
- Adult float
- Children's float
- Trade float
- Majorettes
- Adult fancy dress
- Junior fancy dress
