Give your views on air pollution

People who live and work in the borough can give their views on particular topics through a new online consultation service on Barking and Dagenham Council's award winning website.

Starting this week and until Monday 13 October 2008 you can give your views on air pollution issues affecting Barking and Dagenham.

For the past year councils across the country have been checking the quality of the air we breathe against standards set by the government. Out of a list of 8 pollutants identified by the Government as being of concern, only 2 have the potential to cause problems in Barking and Dagenham.

If there is a chance that people could be affected by these pollutants, the law requires the Council to declare an 'Air Quality Management Area'. Then the Council draws up an action plan of how pollution levels can be improved.

How to give us your views

We would like to know your views on the proposals, and any other comments you have about air pollution issues.

You can give us your views online by completing a short survey on the Limehouse website.

You will need to complete a short registration process before you take part.
