The Barking Learning Centre has won the Local Authority Award at the British Construction Industry Awards.
The British Construction Industry Awards were held on 8 October 2008 at the Grosvenor House hotel in Park Lane where the Barking Learning Centre was short-listed for the Prime Minister's Better Public Buildings Award but missed out to a hospital scheme in Brighton however, the Barking Learning Centre did win the Local Authority Award category.
This is a fantastic achievement for principally the architects Allford Hall Monaghan Morris but it is also recognition of London Borough of Barking and Dagenham's commitment to providing quality opportunities and services to local people.
