Notes on a Dirty Island

Following on from the BBC1 Panorama programme, Notes on a Dirty Island, Barking and Dagenham Council agrees that more has to be done to tackle litter and fly-tipping.

The Council has been running a campaign for the last 2 years aimed at:

Encouraging and educating people who work, live and visit the borough to dispose of their waste correctly
Installing gates to alleys used for littering and antisocial behaviour
Fining those people who refuse to put their litter in the bin or fly-tip
Installing more litter bins in the borough
