Farr Avenue

Farr Avenue is a small shopping precinct on Thames View Estate, cut off from the rest of the borough by the A13, with poor facilities for residents.

Jason Cornish and Phil Power designed a new hard landscaping scheme that incorporates paving, granite seating, lighting and tree planting.

The design is based on the setting of several perspective points and viewing positions from which aspects of the landscape, like seating, expand or recede according to which end of the parade you view it from.

The scheme has encouraged residents to use this space as a place to sit and relax.
