Community Music Service Summer School

 

Community Music Service Summers Schools take place for 3 days at the beginning of the Summer Holidays in July. Different age groups are targeted each year.

 

The Summer School provides opportunities for workshops, performances and concerts led by the Community Music Service team and invited professional musicians.

 

Summer School July 2005:

90 Year 6 and Key Stage 3 instrumental players participated in this summer course (3-days). The Community Music Service team plus additional professional musicians:- Brass Hoppers, Pete Letanka, Simon Bates, Harry Harris and Aaron String Quartet performed to and with the young players.

 

The music prepared through the Summer School included a composition entitled: Barking and Dagenham The Movie. A concert for parents was presented at the end of day 3.
