Trading Faces by SDNA.
Who wears what and whose wares are what? Local market traders, their wares and a few chosen personal additions animate the main bandstand, as a gathering of LED screens form a visual cacophony of bright and playful imagery gathered from around the market and beyond.
By the Way by Zoe Brown.
Film and video artist Zoe Brown creates a series of mini magic moments that break up the trail and the route in and around the centre with single moving images and sites.
Images by Duncan Speakman.
Vast towering images are projected onto the Town Hall's clock tower to emphasise the overwhelming scale of the town centre's highest monument - stunning moving images that can be viewed from near or far.
Abbey Happy by SDNA.
Do you notice a face in the new video stained glass windows that surround the church or that figure who is dancing on the roof and across the tower?
Do you know who is standing between the gate or smiling next to it? Is it you or is it someone you know?
VJ's and digital artists SDNA spent a day filming local community groups in January 2005 to create this delightfully delicate digital artwork around the beautiful historical grounds of Barking Abbey.
Stream by Nikolaj Larsen.
Stream is a stunning piece of work that uses some of the most recent technology to create an immersive and captivating piece of art and sound.
As your eye settles on a small moving circular form, you notice it grow and turn and move into mesmerising human figures that float and glide out of the water accompanied by hypnotic and gentle chants.
Journey by Nikolaj Larsen.
Journey is an animation: a person flying upwards in what appears to be endless space.
The video refers to Icarus, a figure from Greek mythology who drowned in the sea in his failed attempt to fly to the Sun.
The repetitive nature of this looped film puts our sense of scale into perspective when measured against the universe.
