The Corporate Procurement Team:
- Set standards, policies and controls for procurement
- Measure and demonstrate procurement
- Lead strategies for change
- Provide access to training, information best practice, market intelligence
- Stimulate interaction between departments and external agencies and potential partners
- Lead and or participate in tendering and managing selected corporate contracts
- Provide an appropriate input to major departmental contracts
- Be a driver for appropriate change and continuous improvement in procurement
- Monitor and instruct upon departmental compliance with procurement procedures
- Respond to government and other agencies on new proposals
- Support all high value, high risk tendering
- Add value through consultancy services to departments and knowledge management on procurement
- Seek to create and expand new markets where appropriate to help service delivery
