Barking and Dagenham Procurement Rules
In addition to European Union Regulations, we have our own rules for tendering. These are called the Contract Standing Orders and includes rules for below the European Union threshold.
As a general rule all contracts over £50,000 are tendered. The contract Standing Orders give some instances where contracts below the European Union thresholds do not have to be tendered but these are few.
The Contract Standing Orders also lay down stringent rules for how tenders must be received by us and how officers must deal with tenders once received.
