Barking and Dagenham is a film friendly borough which is close to central London, yet far enough away to provide wide-open filming spaces.
With its ancient history and 20th century industrial growth, the borough boasts a vast range of architecture and topography including parks and rambling, open spaces including the Eastbrookend Country Park and Nature Reserve, as well as a considerable area of land with access to the river, which lend themselves to a variety of settings.
The borough has excellent transport links to Central London by both rail and road, and is easy to navigate once you are here.
A dedicated film officer is available to help make filming easy. Our aim is to make your filming project as hassle free as possible and we will work with you to provide parking and liaise with other services where needed.
There are a number of particular areas of interest including the 16th Century Grade I listed Tudor Eastbury Manor House. The main municipal office at the Civic Centre, Dagenham is also of interest with classic 1930s art deco features.
In the past film makers have chosen the area to represent a variety of locations including pre Glasnost Eastern Europe, a fictional Welsh Seaside Town as well as parts of historical London.
