The earliest parts of this building date back to the '1400s'. It is one of only 2 remaining manor houses in the borough and is partly surrounded by a moat.
Valence House in Dagenham is the home of the borough's local history museum, although it still provides a number of opportunities for filming.
The original owners, the Fanshawe family, have family portraits on display in the house and many rooms are displayed showing their traditional use.
