In 2001, we published our first regeneration strategy, An Urban Renaissance in East London to improve the social, economic and environmental well-being of the borough. We have achieved a lot in the past 5 years, including:

But we still have a lot of work to do. We need to make sure that local people have the same opportunities as the communities in our neighbouring boroughs, so we have updated our regeneration strategy to make sure that we get maximum benefit from:

Supporting the community strategy

Our regeneration strategy supports our community strategy, 'Building communities, transforming lives', and working with our partners we will, over the next 5 years, contribute to achieving the aims set out in the community strategy.
