Social Enterprise

Social enterprises can be found across all sectors of the local economy and share common features, which are:

Any profit is distributed back into the business; and
The enterprises have social and/or environmental aims such as the promotion of affordable child care among disadvantaged communities

We have a special Social Enterprise project which aims to help local voluntary sector groups to become more sustainable and less grant dependent through generating their own income.

We offer business development support, a free training programme, an information pack, mentoring support and signposting to local resources.

Credit Unions|

A Credit Union is a profit sharing, democratically run financial co-operative which offers convenient savings and low interest loans to its members. The members own and manage their credit union themselves.
