Toy Libraries
Toy libraries are where children can borrow a wide range of developmental toys. They hold a selection of carefully selected toys to borrow; play sessions and an opportunity for parents and carers to meet in a friendly and informative place.
The toy library helps children to develop vital skills and find toys to suit the abilities of children with special needs. They provide an environment for children to learn and share.
It helps parents to understand the importance of play in their child's development and build on their parenting skills. They also provide information and advice about play.
The schemes are usually self-financing so there is a nominal charge for borrowing toys. Parents and carers are encouraged to take part in managing the toy libraries.
