This includes:

Early childhood is an important time in a child's development. The quality of the early years provision they attend can make a real difference to a child's development and outcomes.

Early Years and Childcare Provision in Barking and Dagenham

Currently parents can choose from a range of childcare provision that will suit their particular needs.

All early years provision (where 0-5 year olds receive education) are supported by a team of experienced Advisory Teachers and Foundation Stage Teachers.

The managers of childcare settings are qualified to at least NVQ level 3 and a minimum of 50% of their staff hold a relevant childcare qualification.

In the school term after their 3rd birthday, all children are entitled to 2½ hours free early education. This can be taken at any day nursery and most pre-schools within the borough.
