The Primary Base is an integrated provision staffed by qualified teachers for the hearing impaired and a full time specialist NNEB assistant.

Additional support from a Special Support Assistant may be provided for pupils with special needs in addition to their hearing loss.

The provision offers daily intensive intervention in an acoustically treated environment for language and speech development, support in mainstream classes and on-going parental guidance.

The Secondary Base is located on both sites of Eastbury Comprehensive School and is staffed by qualified teachers of the hearing impaired. Communications/facilitators are available according to each pupils' individual needs.

Hearing impaired pupils receive support in mainstream classes as well as specialist intervention for their speech, language and communication needs. Additional help is available with an acoustically treated environment where necessary.

The Bases use a natural oral/aural approach to the education of hearing impaired pupils. A total communication system approach to language may be provided if required.
