Children with Special Educational Needs

Education Service for the Visually Impaired

The Joseph Clarke Service for the Visually Impaired provides specialist teachers who advise, support and offer training in schools in the authority where there are pupils with visual impairments.

The Joseph Clarke teachers will observe and assess the pupil's needs in the school and advise on any special resources or help which may need to be provided.

The aim of the service is to promote the education and development of the pupils. Parents are always consulted and home visits can be arranged to provide family support.

The service works with children from birth to 19 years, which includes providing advice, support and guidance to students in colleagues.

This scheme is bought in from the London Borough of Waltham Forest|
