Community Hall Hire

Information for Hiring Halls in the borough

We have 13 halls in Community Centres throughout the borough which are available for private lettings on Saturdays from 9am - 11pm in most cases.

Only 3 of our Halls can be booked until midnight: Fanshawe Hall, Seabrook Hall and Thames View Hall.

Hiring the Hall between 11pm and midnight incurs an additional premium of 50% on top of the original hourly rate. Charities registered in the borough are given a discount of 10%, but proof of charity status must be provided.

Midweek bookings

During the week these halls are managed by Community Associations who organise many activities such as bingo, dancing, bowls, martial arts, play groups and youth clubs to name but a few.

If your club/association would like to make a midweek booking, it may be possible to accommodate you. Please contact the Community Development Office on the above number who will pass your request through to the appropriate Community Association.

Guidelines

For full terms and conditions please refer to the Letting Regulations which will be sent to you.

We will provide a caretaker throughout your booking who will unlock the building, help with laying out tables, looking after your guests, and assist in cleaning up after the function.

Alcohol cannot be sold without Council permission and the appropriate licence.

It is important that the maximum capacity numbers are followed due to Health and Safety regulations.

All catering and disco equipment must be removed at the end of booking. We regret that it is not possible to deliver items to the halls on Friday or collect them on Sunday.
