Biodiversity

 

Biodiversity encompasses all of the world's plants and animals and the habitats they live in.

 

This borough has a number of important habitats for sustaining biodiversity including gardens and allotments, rivers and reedbeds, and grassland. We have over 30 Sites of Importance for Nature Conservation in this borough. The borough is also home to the black poplar - a rare and endangered species of tree.

 

Along with the Ranger Service, Parks Development Team, and other organisations the Environmental Sustainability Team is:
