Health and Safety at Work
There are over 2,000 health and safety premises within Barking and Dagenham.
These include warehouses, shops, supermarkets, restaurants, general stores, storage depots, tyre fitters and DIY shops.
Manufacturing premises are inspected by the Health and Safety Executive and not by the local authority.
The Health and Safety team also provide general advice and information to both employers and employees who wish to know more about health and safety legislation. Last year a free seminar was run in conjunction with the Health and Safety Executive on slips, trips and falls within the workplace.
