Licensing

Licensing Policy

From 7 February 2005 we started to process liquor licences along with the existing licences that we are already responsible for.

During the 9 months following February 2005, people were required to apply to the Magistrates Court and to us for any liquor licences. Both the old system and the new ran side by side until 24 November 2005 when the Act went live and we took full control of the processing and granting of licences.

We consulted with residents and local businesses on our draft licensing policy and have now published our final policy, which was adopted on 5 January 2005.
