Sheltered housing is accommodation specially designed for people over 60, or younger if you are registered disabled or in receipt of Disability Living Allowance. It is not a care home or residential care.
All our sheltered housing is self-contained. You would have your own front door, kitchen, bathroom and lounge with combined or separate bedroom.
Local residents who are not currently a council tenant may be eligible for sheltered housing according to age and needs. We will carry out an assessment of applicants and maintain a waiting list until suitable properties become available.
Local residents who are currently housing association tenants may be eligible for sheltered housing according to age and needs. We will carry out an assessment of applicants and maintain a waiting list until suitable properties become available.
A transfer or housing register form can be collected from the Local Area Housing Offices.
If you would like an application form to be posted to you, please telephone the Applications Team on 020 8227 2403 / 2758.
When your completed application is processed by Applications, we will arrange for you to be visited by a welfare officer. They will assess the level of support you need and discuss scheme options.
All offers are made subject to the points awarded to your application, and the availability of vacant properties in the schemes selected.
Some schemes will consider applications from persons aged 50+.
