There are a number of discount rail cards available to members of the public. These include young persons, senior, disabled and family cards.
The National Railcard provides information and advice on all of these cards and the criteria needed in order to obtain one.
These are available to anyone over the age of 60 and offer up to one third off the price of most rail fares throughout Britain. For just £20, a senior railcard allows a whole year of savings to hundreds of different journeys.
These are available depending on the nature of the disability. For just £14 a disabled person's railcard allows up to one third off the price of many rail tickets for an entire year.
These are available to anyone aged between 16-25 or are mature students.
All of the cards are valid for 12 months and the young persons, senior and family railcards can be used on all of the 15 privatised train companies across the National Rail network.
