As an organisation we value our staff - in fact we recognise them as our biggest asset!. We are therefore very proud to have achieved recognition as an Investor in People for the whole Council in October 2005.
This is really important because, for us, achieving the IIP award Council-wide was not about the 'brass plate' on the wall; it's about being able to demonstrate our total commitment to all our staff and to improving services.
Excellent services can only be achieved by staff who are motivated, who have a real say in how we operate, who are properly trained and given opportunities for development, and who are well supported by their manager.
We hope also that by winning corporate IIP accreditation, our staff will be well placed to deal with the many challenges and opportunities that will come our way over future years.
We are now working towards higher levels of the new standard, while our Recruitment, Compensation and Benefits team is working towards achieving recognition against the IIP Recruitment and Selection standard.
If, perhaps, by reading this page, you are thinking of applying to work for us, do be assured that we put our staff high on our list of priorities. We want our staff to be amongst the best in the country and we will do all that we can to make sure that appropriate support and opportunities are provided.
