School records for individual pupils

Barking and Dagenham local authority does not hold school records for individual pupils.

The Education (Pupil Information) Regulations 2005, which came into force on 8 July 2005, require schools to keep a curricular record for each pupil and disclose on request a pupil's educational record to their parent or guardian.

A pupil's curricular record can include a formal record of a pupil's academic achievements, his/her other skills, abilities and progress in school.

Under these regulations schools must also transfer a pupil's educational record to their new school when they change schools.

Requesting a copy of a pupil's curricular record

Parents should make a formal request to the Governing body of the school your child attends.
