The Register Office

Is open to the public Monday to Friday from 9.30am - 4pm.

 

We are a small office but try to see all customers within 10 minutes. It is rare for us not to achieve this target but if you find yourself waiting for longer than this time it will be because we are exceptionally busy. Please bear with us.

 

We can make a separate appointment for you if you wish.

UK family history online|

This site, provided by the familyrecords.gov consortium, aims to give you easy access to information and links to the main UK family history sites on the web.

 

The Public Records Office|

The Public Record Office is the repository of the national archives for England, Wales and the United Kingdom.

 

It was founded by act of Parliament in 1838 to bring together and preserve the records of central government and the courts of law, and to make them available to all whom wish to consult them.

 

The records, beginning with Domesday Book (1086), span an unbroken period from the 11th century to the present.

 

Changing your name
