Byelaws

 

Byelaws are local laws that create criminal offences.

 

They exist to protect our environment from damage, spoiling or misuse.

 

Local authorities have powers under certain Acts of Parliament to make byelaws on Common Land and Town and Village Greens, Country Parks and National Parks.

 

Byelaws

 

Parks, walks and open spaces|

Byelaws made under the Public Health Act 1875 and the Open Spaces Act 1906 relating to pleasure grounds, public walks and open spaces.

 

Country Parks and Nature Reserves|

Byelaws made under the Countryside Act 1968, relating to Eastbrookend Country Park and The Chase local nature reserve.

 

Dogs (Fouling of Land)|

Byelaws made under the Dogs Fouling of Land Act 1996.
