June - August 2008

Consultation on the Barking Town Centre Area Action Plan (preferred options report) and the Site Specific Allocations Development Plan Document (issues and options report) is taking place between Monday 30 June 2008 - Monday 11 August 2008.

1) Barking Town Centre Area Action Plan (preferred options report)

Last summer we consulted you about the future of Barking Town Centre. Your comments have helped us develop this 'preferred options' report. It suggests uses for particular sites and sets out the policies we will use to judge planning applications in the area.

2) Site Specific Allocations (issues and options report)

This report sets out potential site for future development and protection. This includes housing, employment, parks and open spaces, transport, and facilities that support people and communities (e.g. schools, religious meeting places). As we are at an early stage in the production of this document, we are asking for your views on any sites that you think may be suitable for these uses.

Limehouse consultation

We are using a new on-line system to record your views, called Limehouse consultation. It will be very helpful to us if you can use it to submit your comments.

There are also benefits to you of using it such as instant updates of new documents available for consultation, ability to view other consultees' representations, and the ability to update your personal details instantly such as changes of address or email. Responding online also has as environmental benefits as it saves paper.
