The government wants more and more people to be able to order and pay for council services online or by telephone. It expects every council service, where appropriate, to be available electronically by the end of 2005.
We are in the process of tackling the associated challenges of providing all our services electronically. We aim to be excellent in the provision of all our planning services via the internet by 2008.
The e-Planning Blueprint sets out the vision for a 'world-class' e-Planning Service.
The Planning delivery grant is the funding made available for this. Details about the planning delivery grant are available on the Communities and Local Government website.
For those who wish to use the online facilities but do not have a computer at home there is free internet access at all libraries.
To make it easier to locate our online services we have compiled a list of what is currently available. If you have any queries, please call our planning office.
Every year from 2000 to 2005 we have to produce an Implementing E-Government Statement for Communities and Local Government.
This spells out the steps being taken to achieve the government's targets and outlines the ways in which electronic services will be developed in the lead up to the end of 2005.
