It is not only the residents of Barking and Dagenham that are responsible for us reaching our recycling target of 18% - it's up to us too.
Last year, the amount of rubbish being recycled increased enormously to 14%. But we need to improve on this further, and the key to that is recognizing that we each have a part to play.
Orange bins have recently been distributed to all council offices and by now you should all be using them, make sure that if your rubbish can be recycled, it is being recycled!
On the side and lids of the bins is a breakdown of what can and can not be recycled so check your rubbish first, because it may not be rubbish after all!
Just to recap and in case there is any confusion
* you do not need to remove the staples - they can be recycled too!
