Making of Temporary Traffic Management Order
Please note: The following information is required when a request is made for the preparation of Temporary Traffic Management Order:
- The following items are to be provided to the Traffic Engineer on a headed letter indicating the date and duration for Traffic Management Order to commence (all requirements must be received by the engineer 10 weeks prior to the start of work) also a guarantee from the applicant that all costs incurred by the local authority will be fully met
- A 10 weeks minimum notice period is required to make a Temporary Order (This is for advertising, consultation, amending of Order by the legal sections, sealing of Order and re-advertising of making of Order). These process are statutory requirements
- A site meeting is required by all parties concerned with the Traffic Management Order
- Number 4 scaled plans required of proposed scheme with title box together with all necessary information including Traffic Management Plan according to Chapter 8 and diversion routes if any
- For preparation of the order (approximately £3000 minimum, this could be more depending on the complexity of the proposed Traffic Management Order)
- A statement of reason of the proposed scheme in A4 size paper (a brief written paragraph or 2 outlining the reasons for introducing the Traffic Management Order) is required
- Further alteration after submission of the proposed scheme for preparation of traffic management order by the engineer will incur delays to the commencement date of the order and also additional costs will be incurred. These alterations should be processed through the principal engineer (policy and strategy)
- Full details should be passed to all emergency services and any residents that may be affected
