We receive many requests from residents for these to be introduced in their roads to reduce speeds and improve safety.

Traffic Management schemes are introduced to solve an identified problem in 1 or more roads.

Frequently asked questions|

 

The Road Safety Officers' role is to raise awareness amongst all age and type of road users, on how to avoid involvement in road traffic accidents. A number of the services the road safety provides are outlined below.

 

Visiting Schools

Some of our Road Safety Officers make school visits to teach the borough's children the importance of remaining safe when using roads.

 

Various Road Safety programmes are given to children of all ages.

 

Visiting Groups

Officers also make visits to various local organisations within the borough. For example antenatal classes, and Post Natal groups to advise impending and new parents of the importance of using and correctly fitting car seats.

 

School Crossing Patrols

The School Crossing Patrol service is under the supervision and management of the Road Safety Team.

 

Child Restraint checks

We provide a free Child Seat checking service to ensure children are safe when travelling in cars. For more information on this service please contact the Road Safety Team.
