Leisure Smart is the annual Leisure Centre membership scheme in Barking and Dagenham. It offers you a wide range of benefits within our leisure facilities.
Who can join?
Individuals, families, groups and organisations can all get Leisure Smart.
What do I get as a member?
Leisure Smart enrolls members at each of our 4 major sports and leisure venues:
It does not matter which centre you join at, you pay members prices at all of them.
Facilities can be booked over the telephone up to 7 days in advance. This can be done immediately at all the sites.
No deposit is required when hiring sports equipment - your membership card is accepted instead of the usual fee.
Use of the Centres may also bring further discounts and special offers on a seasonal basis, together with free entry into promotions.

How do I join?

- Pay the appropriate membership charge
Your card will be available for collection (at the same site) in a few days.

Which membership should I choose and how much does it cost?
Full membership
Suitable for those who want to use all the facilities at every centre. Members receive discounts on many activities and sessions and can book by telephone up to 7 days in advance.
- Adult - £29 (plus one-off £6 joining fee)
- Junior - £15 (plus one-off £6 joining fee)
Family membership
This membership is extremely good value for money since 1 payment covers husband, wife and up to 4 children under 16 years of age (under 18 if in full time education). Each family member receives their own card and is entitled to all the benefits of Full Membership.
- Family £64 (plus one-off £6 joining fee)
Replacement cards are £4.
Leisure Active
All-inclusive package of fitness activities.
- Per Month - £37 (plus one-off £6 joining fee)
- Per Year - £407 (plus one-off £6 joining fee)
Replacement swipe cards are £4.
Corporate and group membership
These types of membership are available for 10 or more people (all of which must fall under the same membership category, as detailed). Cost is dependant upon the number of members. Please ask at the reception for details.
Conditions of membership
- Notice of 48 hours should be given when cancelling a booking. If 48 hours notice is not given, The fee must be paid in full. Further bookings will not be accepted until outstanding debts are settled. No refunds or transfers will be given
- You must produce your Smart Card on each visit to a Centre. Customers unable to produce their card will pay the same charges as a non-member
- New members are charged an initial £6 registration fee
- Replacement of lost membership cards costs £6
- Persons under 16 years of age, unless taking part in a sporting activity, will not be allowed entry to the Centre at weekends or after 6pm weekdays, unless accompanied by an adult
- Management reserve the right to refuse admission
