We provide support for both curriculum development and the teaching of physical education for all schools across all phases in the borough.

Any school can bid for direct classroom support from any member of the team. However, all team members have expertise in particular areas as well as being able to offer advice across the physical education curriculum.

Fiona Bevan

Has overall responsibility for the deployment of the team and ensuring individual school requirements are met. Any advice required on safety, new facilities and new fixed equipment should be made to Fiona in the first instance.

Fiona also has overall responsibility for the development of outdoor education including the support of curriculum development at Trewern and all matters concerning school visits off-site and safety guidance relating to school trips.

Fiona is also available to offer advice on the development of school sites and the development of playground games for break times.

Liz Harrison

Takes overall responsibility for the development of games and athletics in all phases, this includes school based support and support in developing schemes of work.

Bobbie Gargrave

Is with the team for 60 days per year and takes responsibility for the development of dance across all phases and supporting the early years team on physical development during the early years.

Along with Fiona and Liz, Bobbie will also be supporting gymnastic activities across Key Stages 1 and 2. Fiona will support this development in Key Stages 3 and 4.

Linda Porter

Is the senior swimming teacher based at the Dagenham swimming pool. All matters related to the swimming programme are to be directed to her in the first instance. Linda also oversees all of the borough school swimming galas.
