Our pledge to work with you to build a strong community for all.
You told us your 6 priorities for a strong community. This is what we are doing to tackle them:
We have: Worked together to reduce crime by 6.5% in the borough in the last year.
We will: Work in a targeted way to further reduce crime and increase the number of people who feel safe.
We have: Made sure that access to all our services is fair and provided according to need.
We will: Work closely with residents through our new Neighbourhood Management work so that local services meet local needs.
We have: Tackled antisocial behaviour through the combined work of the Police, youth services and other partner organisations.
We will: Tackle the antisocial behaviour issues that are of most concern to residents.
We have: Cleaned up the borough through our 'cleaner, greener and safer' campaign.
We will: Continue to build on the work already done to create pride in the borough.
We have: Invested £220,000 to support youth groups, clubs and activities for young people in the borough.
We will: Provide activities for young people, based on what they tell us they want.
We have: Organised community events like the Dagenham Town Show, Big Green Borough Day and the Molten Festival.
We will: Develop and support even more events to bring people together.
Barking and Dagenham Partnership asked you what is important in order to build a strong community in Barking and Dagenham. You told us that fairness, respect, safety and togetherness are what you value most in a strong community.
'Building our future together' is our pledge to you that we will work in partnership with all residents to build a strong community in Barking and Dagenham, based on what you told us.
By working closely with residents and community groups we can together tackle the issues that are important to everyone, and build a strong community of which we can all be proud.
This is a brief summary of the work we are doing to build a stronger community.
