Community Cohesion Strategy

Foreword from Chair of the Barking and Dagenham Partnership

This web page sets out the second Community Cohesion Strategy and action plan to be adopted by the Barking and Dagenham Partnership. Our first strategy, 'One Community', laid down the foundation upon which to establish a more focused set of values and priorities.

Since that strategy was adopted in 2004, the borough has seen considerable change, and it is appropriate that we use new approaches to meet the needs of our residents, today and into the future.

Our community have told us that a cohesive Barking and Dagenham is a place that values:

Together, we choose to build and support:

We are proud of the diversity of our community. We continue to be committed to listening and working with local people to build a strong and cohesive community for all those who live, work, or study in the borough, or those who visit it. This strategy sets out our plan to achieve this.
