Local Land Charges Service

New Search fees from 1 June 2007

The Department of Constitutional Affairs recently announced the deregulation of all statutory fees relating to the Local Land Charges Service (with exception to Personal Search fees) and has introduced a statutory instrument requiring each local authority to set its own fees on a cost recovery basis only as from the 1 April 2007.

In line with the new changes and in compliance with the above rules and regulations, the Local Land Charges Service has now completed its costing exercise and as from the 1 June 2007 the following fees will apply when applying for a search:

Full search (LLC1 and CON 29) inclusive of a refresh search not more than 6 months old from date of issue - £118
LLC1 only search - £39 and £1 for each additional parcel of land up to a maximum fee of £16
CON29 Required (numbers 1-3.13) - £79
CON29 Optional (numbers 4-22) - £14 each
Additional parcel of land on a full search - £22 each
Personal search of the Register - £11 and £1 for any additional parcel of land up to a maximum fee of £16
Common land and village green search only - £14 and £1 for any additional parcel of land up to a maximum fee of £20
Copies for documents as a result of a search - £10 each
Copy of search results - £20 each

Additional parcel of land

An additional parcel of land is a separate part of a building (e.g. a flat above a shop), or a building adjoining the property being searched upon.

Other fees

We can provide you with copies of documents as a result of a Local Search completed by us for a fee of £10 per copy, please quote the search reference given on the search when requesting copies.
