The full council tax bill assumes there are 2 adults living in a home. We will give a discount of 25% if only 1 adult lives in the property. When counting the number of adults living in a property certain groups of people are not counted (disregarded).
Where everyone living in a property is not counted or your property is nobody's main home, we will give you a 50% discount and in some circumstances the property will be exempt.
If your bill shows that we have given you a discount, you must tell us about any change in your circumstances that could affect your discount. You may have to pay a fine if you don't do this.
