Housing

The Housing Revenues and Benefits team consists of 10 officers based at Roycraft House. As well as reporting to the Corporate Director of Customer Services, they also have a financial reporting line to the Corporate Director of Resources.

The team provides a number of support services including:

Financial Advice - This will be on a wide range of topics from the feasibility of stock transfers to what code should be used to purchase stationery. Finance officers will work closely with senior officers, Members and External Partners to ensure advice is current and relevant
Financial Accounting - This will include the preparation of estimates, closure of account, monitoring spend throughout the year, completing stationery returns and raising invoices
Financial Training - This will be undertaken to ensure all budget holders are fully aware of their responsibilities and duties in managing budgets. Training in the new Oracle Financial Information System will be ongoing to ensure everybody is using it to its full potential
Maximising Resources - This will include looking into new ways of raising funds, carrying out option and project appraisals, preparing business plan models so as to assist managers in their strategic decision making and ensuring value for money is achieved at all times

As well as the above, the Revenues and Benefits team also produces service charge estimates, final accounts for leaseholders, and deals with leaseholder financial queries apart from outstanding accounts.
