The authority will offer a school uniform clothing grant to families to help support them with the cost of school clothing and footwear.
Clothing Grants are given to school age children whose parent/guardian are currently in receipt of:
Families with children who live in the borough who are in receipt of Income Support or Income Based Job Seekers Allowance or Child Tax Credit only, with an income less than £13,910 should qualify for a school clothing grant for their child/children.
Families who are in receipt of Working Tax Credit with an income less than £14,200 should qualify for a School Clothing Grant for their child/children. Families with a current yearly income of less than £14,200 can also apply for a clothing grant (we will need 4 weeks proof of income). Please provide evidence that you are in receipt of these benefits when you make your application.

Grants are issued as cheques. You will need a bank account in your name to be able to pay the cheque into it.
Grants for Primary School children (Reception, Year 3 and Year 5 only) are £15 per year
Grants for Secondary School children (Year 7 only) are £45 per year
Please note: The clothing grants are made at the discretion of the authority and the authority is under no legal obligation to provide them.
