The Local Elections are taking place on Thursday 4 May 2006. Registered electors will be voting for 3 candidates in each of the 17 Council wards and all 51 seats on Barking and Dagenham Council are up for election. The councillors elected by local voters will run the council until May 2010.
Polling will take place between the hours of 7am - 10pm.

All qualified electors will receive a poll card, with a map detailing their polling station and informing them whether they have a postal vote.
The date for postal vote applications has now passed. If you were too late, you can always appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf. Closing date for proxies was 5pm on Tuesday 25 April 2006 (or later if the voter has a medical condition or incapacity - please see changes to arrangements for Postal and Proxy voting|).
