Electoral Registration

Members of HM Forces and their families

Members of the Armed Forces (and their partners) need to put their names on the Register of Electors by contacting Electoral Services.

You can register as an ordinary elector at the address where you normally live, or you can register as a 'service voter' at a particular address, and remain registered there while you are posted somewhere else.

If you register as a service voter, you will have to renew your registration each year.

If you are on a reasonably stable posting, the best option is to register as an ordinary elector. This will help you prove where you live if you apply for credit.
