Living the Dream Barking and Dagenham Trust is a new independent Trust which has been set up to support local sportsmen and women.
The Trust will be responsible for raising money through various means such as donations and fundraising events. The money will then be distributed to local talented individuals to help them develop their sporting talent and their dreams of being part of the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics and other international competitions.
The Trust comprises of representatives from the business community, the voluntary sector and Barking and Dagenham Council.
The borough currently boasts over 20 young potential Olympians who represent their respective national squads as well as being world record holders, World Champions and European Champions.
These youngsters are the pride of Barking and Dagenham and we want to help them achieve their dream by supporting them, whether it be by providing equipment, or assistance towards training and travel costs.
In order to complete with the best, these youngsters have to travel all over the world to take part in competitions and we want to show them that the local community is fully behind them.
