This is our preferred method of payment as it saves you and the council time and money when making a payment. It is the only method of payment that comes with a guarantee.
Once the Direct Debit has been set up, there is no action to be taken on your part, as payments are automatically debited from your bank or building society account.
If the amount of the instalment changes, (for example in the new financial year) you will be automatically notified of the change.
Direct Debits can be taken on the 1st, 8th, 15th or 22nd of each month. You should always check to make sure you have enough money in your account to cover the payment at this date, as your bank may charge you if you do not.
Please note: Direct Debits cannot be made from certain types of account, for example, savings accounts. Please check with your bank if you are unsure.
