Youth Services and Activities 

Youth centres 

There are four dedicated council run youth centres with a range of activities and facilities as well as condom distribution and advice and guidance for young people aged 11-19. Young people with a disability are welcome up to the age of 25.
  • There are eight Street Base Local youth clubs around the borough for young people aged 11-19. Young people who are disabled are welcome up to the age of 25.
     
  • The youth bus is a mobile youth club that visits different locations around Barking and Dagenham, bringing services to young people aged 11-19. Young people who are disabled are welcome up to the age of 25.
     
  • Youth 4 us is the council's dedicated youth website. It presents information in a child and young person friendly format, with information on youth services and activities, opportunities to get involved, education and careers, and more.
     
  • Young Inspectors have been trained to undertake inspections of local services from a young person's perspective and methods include interviews, observations, mystery shopping, surveys and questionnaires. They are members of the Barking and Dagenham Youth Forum (BADYF) elected by their school peers.
