Volunteering 

There are many volunteering opportunities at the Council and in the local community.

All departments in the Council offer exciting and rewarding volunteer opportunities that will suit your time, interests, skills and motivations.

Why volunteer?

How do I sign up?

  • Contact the team running the volunteer programme your interested in
  • Complete an application form and attend an informal interview (varies per programme)
  • Complete a police check (in most cases)
  • Attend indcution and training
  • If eligible start volunteering 

Adult and Community Services 

Opportunities on offer range from helping older and vulnerable people to working with the community to ensure safety, health and wellbeing.

Offer many volunteering opportunities for those who enjoy working with children, young people and families or those wishing to move into a career in this area.

Housing and Environment 

Opportunties including getting involved in your local area through the Tenants Participation Team or conservation voluntary work.
