Ancestry Library Edition  

Ancestry Library Edition is available in your local library and the Archives and Local Studies Centre in Barking and Dagenham free of charge. You can trace your family history using this special version of the well known family history database.
  • Ancestry Library Edition
    Records that can be searched, viewed and printed include the following

    • 1841 to 1911 census records, with images of the original records: England, Wales, Channel Islands and the Isle of Man
    • 1841 to 1901 census records, transcriptions only: Scotland
    • Birth, marriage and death indexes
    • UK and Ireland parish and probate records from the 1500s to the 1800s
    • A large collection of London parish records from the 18th century onwards 
    • Records of English settlers in Barbados, 1637 to 1800
    • Slave Registers in former British Colonial Dependencies, 1812 to 1834
    • BT telephone directories, 1880 to 1984: London and home counties
    • Extensive US, Canadian and other international sources

    Please note: This database is not available outside of Barking and Dagenham libraries and Local Studies centre
