About the Centre

Barking Learning Centre is a town centre landmark building. It provides learning opportunities from basic skills through to further and higher education, with a specialist focus as a centre of excellence for education and skills development for key workers in the public sector.

The primary focus of the Centre is to provide education and training opportunities linked to the public service areas of health, education, social care and administration, to support increased participation to learning locally.

Significant gaps have been identified in the supply of health, social care and educational workers available to support the population of Barking and Dagenham and beyond.
