Welcome to the Social Care web page.
As a Council, we have a responsibility to support, care and protect people in the community. In the borough we have people with a wide range of health and social care needs. These range from elderly people leaving hospital to families in crisis, addicts trying to kick the habit, abandoned children and young offenders.
We promote the well-being of children in need and looked-after children and enable people to make choices and live independently.
One of our community priorities is to improve health and social care within the borough. We work with service users and the community to protect vulnerable people and, in partnership with the Barking and Dagenham Primary Care Trust, deliver services to adults and children to address physical disability and mental health needs across the borough.
We want to improve the health and well-being in this borough, and make it somewhere where people can live healthy and independent lives.
Topics arranged in the Local Government Social Care Category.
